Dost Ya Dushman?

Bollywood celebrities have been playing with our feelings for the longest time now. Are they friends? Are they more than friends? Oh wait.. do they actually hate each other? Sigh!

We went into details of these bollywood celebrities’ love-hate relationships so you don’t have to:

Priyanka Chopra & Deepika Padukone
Status: Friends

Whoever said two actresses cannot be friends? These two set Karan Johar’s couch on fire when they appeared together on his talk show. Deepika even went out on a limb to say Priyanka was her first friend in the industry. And after all that time they shared space on the silver screen and brought our cold, dead hearts to life. They’re now taking Hollywood by storm, and even though they may be rivals on screen, we hope they remain friends off screen!

alia bhatt

Alia Bhatt & Parineeti Chopra
Status: Friends

We must say, Karan Johar really has a knack for making sure commoners like us know the relationship status of our favourite celebs! When Alia and Parineeti made their debuts around the same time, rumours of their rivalry were doing the rounds. The PYTs cleared the air on Karan’s show with Pari thanking Alia for supporting her through her low phases. Their PDA from their current Dream Tour is just too cute to handle!

Ranveer Singh & Arjun Kapoor
Status: BFFs

Everyone knows these two were inseparable ever since they did Gunday together! In fact, if we didn’t know better, we’d pretty much think they were dating each other! Bollywood’s livewires Arjun & Ranveer often refer to each other as ‘Baba’ and their social media PDA is on point!

Shah Rukh Khan & Salman Khan
Status: It’s Complicated

Sigh. These two. Their love-hate relationship is the most talked about relationship in Bollywood, and it’s not least because they share a surname! With the two biggest superstars of the industry constantly at war, it makes for many pretty awkward moments for their common friends. Well, apparently these two have buried the hatchet with SRK gracing Sallu’s sister’s wedding last year.

Anushka Sharma & Deepika Padukone
Status: Foes

While everyone wished these two were friends, there has been a very apparent rivalry between Anushka & Deepika. It began with Anushka feeling sidelined when she didn’t become an overnight star like Deepika. And then came Ranveer Singh. Even though Deepika’s romance with Ranveer blossomed much after his break up with Anushka, it’s now as good as set in stone that these two will almost never be friends.

But then, it’s Bollywood. It’s where wives don’t recognise their husbands after a clean shave, and where plastic surgeries change more than just faces! Kuch bhi ho sakta hai with bollywood celebrities!

Stuff Bollywood Celebrities Say – 2

…. And what they actually mean!

Try as they may, our beloved Bollywood celebrities will never learn to be cryptic, no? Everyone always knows what they’re not saying, and what they’re really saying when they’re saying things. But, for the uninitiated, here’s a list of the things bollywood celebs say, and what they really mean!

1. I took a break from acting

What they want us to believe – I am a much planned person. I had planned my career very meticulously and I had A LOT of work waiting for me, but I needed a break and so I took one.

bollywood gif

What they actually mean – I am UNEMPLOYED! I am so out of work but I term it as a break and I need to be in news so I just go on telling media that now my ‘much needed’ break is over and I am ready to work. Bring me work!

bollywood gif

2. I don’t pay attention to rumours

What they want us to believe – Rumours don’t affect me. Yes I hear about them but I am too busy with my work commitments. And I think reacting to rumours is a waste of time and unnecessary.

bollywood gif

What they actually mean – I just love rumours, it keeps me in the news more than my films do! And ofcourse I can’t react because some of the linkup rumours are true, but hey it’s my life! I hate it when rumours die down so I may be have a special PR team for just that!

bollywood gif

3. So what if we are separated we still respect each other

What they want us to believe – We are two mature adults who have decided to live our lives separately. We still respect each other and will still be friends. Things between us have ended very mutually and cordially. We need our privacy at this time.

bollywood gif

What they actually mean – I don’t want to see his/her face anymore, but ofcourse I am a celebrity I cannot be myself. I would have ripped him/ her apart in the media but he/she can also do the same to me n I don’t want my reputation ruined more than it already has been. The proceeding is still going on and I need a proper settlement, so ofcourse we’ll act friends for some time.

bollywood gif

4. I take up projects that encourage me to work hard

What they want us to believe – I have multiple offers made to me every day but I reject them all. I actually go through the whole script and then decide. My co actors and production house don’t affect me, my role does. So when it a role that needs a lot of work and interests me I take it up.

bollywood gif

What they actually mean – I have a shortage of scripts right now! I am ready to do any role. I am very particular about my co actors and production house but I have no films right now and well, I have bills to clear. So yeah I am going to take up unconventional roles once a while just for my bills.

bollywood gif

5. I wouldn’t mind if I have to work with him/ her (Ex Lover)

What they want us to believe – We are mature as persons and as actors. We keep our personal and professional lives apart. Working together is not an issue because we have both moved on with our lives.

bollywood gif

What they actually mean – Working with him/ her means a chance to be close to him/ her again, I wouldn’t miss that. Because ofcourse I have not moved on! Also, all the publicity that it would bring to the film and to me is definitely going to get me more films!

bollywood gif

6. The audience now accepts unconventional films and that is good

What they want us to believe – The mass audience has grown out of the masala movie phase and now likes unconventional films and that is so encouraging. It gives us inspiration to work harder and enter into different genres which were never touched or never accepted in the past.

bollywood gif

What they actually mean – OMG the audience has become so smart. This means that my favourite masala movies won’t work anymore. This scares me to death! I will have to work really hard, because now the actual actors will take centre stage and glam people like me are gonna be in trouble, a lot of trouble.

A Love Letter To Ranveer Singh

Oh Ranveer! How am I going to get over you, you part charmer, part roadside romeo?!

I was just thinking about when I fell in love with you. I think it was when I watched Band Bajaa Baraat for the first time. Maybe jab tumne bread pakode ki kasam khayi thi! Sigh.Or maybe when I tried to find the line that separated Ranveer and Bittoo, and couldn’t find it! The way you adapted to Bittoo so easily like ‘makhan’ is just too much to handle!

No wait. It definitely was when I heard rumours of you dating that nakchhadi Shruti and I was so jealous! Badi aayi business ke rules sikhane wali – ho gaya na usko bhi tumse love? Actually, I think I fell in love with you when I saw you dancing to Ainvayi Ainvayi – main toh lut gayi tumhare naam pe Ranveer!

Everyone knows how quickly our favourite celebs go from being friends to foes and back. One day they’re ‘just good friends’ and the next, they’re on the verge of breaking up! It pains us to realize that 2016 has developed some seriously bad juju for love in Bollywood, and it’s only March!

Stuff Bollywood Celebrities Say…

1. ‘We’re Just Good Friends’

What They Want Us to Believe – We’re just good friends. We’re not secretly dating even though the pictures of us holding hands and going on secret holidays are plastered all over the place!

What They Really Mean – Well, we are dating, and we’re in love but you people are too nosy for us to share our lives with you so take this answer and go!

2. ‘No Comment’

What They Want Us to Believe – I don’t know why you are asking me these questions because this is a non issue in my life and I genuinely do not care enough about it to give you gossip fodder.

What They Really Mean – There is so much I want to say but if I start talking all hell will break loose because this is the worst day of my life so please PLEASE leave me alone!

3. ‘I’m A Very Private Person’

What They Want Us to Believe – Even though I am a public personality, I do have a life of my own, so mind your own business.

What They Really Mean – This really is none of your business so can you get your camera out of my face?

4. ‘This Is My Most Ambitious Film Ever’

What They Want Us to Believe – I have worked really hard on the story, actors, theme, so please please spend some money to watch it.

What They Really Mean – We had way too much money to spend, and since the story is like any other, we decided to blow up all the money on the make up artists.

5. ‘I only compete with myself.’

What They Want Us to Believe – I am super confident and super secure with my ability to outperform my peers and I don’t bother about what projects they’re doing.

What They Really Mean – I only have a team of 20 people tracking their every move, and cyber stalking them to find out if I’m missing out on anything important!

And, now we know! 🙂
