Mainstream cinema’s well-awaited project – Simmba, starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan has already created buzz with its behind-the-scenes snippets on social media.
While the alluring star cast is reason enough to watch the film, there’s much more that excites us. Read on to know!
Singham – the much-loved original
The iconic Ajay Devgan starrer is what this movie is inspired from and it can probably be called a spin-off too. News has it that the main character played by Ranveer, called Simmba in the film is a Singham fan. The word Singham means lion and the most famous lion name of all times has got to be Simmba. D’you get it now? *plays the lion king soundtrack*
We also know, courtesy Google, that Ajay Devgan is a part of the cast, so we can expect a mind-boggling collaboration of the vintage and the all new. Hell yeah!
Ranveer Singh – the power machine
We’re tired of getting charmed by his energy but he never backs out from blowing our minds every single time.
He has already gone all out and said that this is his “biggest film” to date, so we can imagine how excited he must be. He’s gone through a vigorous workout regime to fit a cops avatar. And his first look revealed via Instagram makes us crave for more.
We expect a blockbuster and nothing less from him!
Rohit Shetty – the king of action
We’ve seen his magic time and again. Be it the Golmaal series or Singham, he gets full marks when it comes to the intensity he creates in action sequences. He has proved his mettle in the romantic genre too. He took us by surprise in Chennai Express and Dilwale, by painting a beautiful picture that’s pleasing to the eye.
Most of all we can trust Rohit Shetty with entertaining mainstream cinema that will leave us smiling ear to ear.
Karan Johar – the superhit factory
The man that needs to introduction, KJo, is easily a crowd favourite and is known for his picture-perfect movies. He has recently meddled into offbeat cinema and realistic concepts so his project with Rohit Shetty sounds way more interesting than it would have 5 years ago.
We’re expecting humour meets drama, with a dash of romance and top notch action. Basically full masala. Something we haven’t seen in a while.
Sara Ali Khan – the well-awaited debutant
Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter Sara has been the talk of the town even before stepping into superstardom. She was reportedly sued for giving away another movie’s dates to Simmba, in turn attracting crazy paparazzi. Not like it was very different earlier.
Talking about her debut in Simmba, we’re extremely stoked because she seems more mature and promising in comparison to a lot of young blood. We wonder how she will match up to Ranveer Singh’s supersonic energies. She has probably accepted this challenge by signing up for the film so let’s wait and watch!
Slated for December 28th, this movie sounds like the ideal way to end 2018.
Think we may love the spin-off more than the original? PROBABLY.
